Faculty
Bonnie
Sorensen-Ernst is the owner and operator of Saint Germain Music
Studio. She is a sought-after piano teacher, performer, and adjudicator
based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Bonnie graduated with a master’s degree
in piano performance and pedagogy from Southern Methodist University
where she studied piano pedagogy with Dr.
Samuel Holland and piano performance with Alfred Mouledous, the
long-serving pianist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She has served as
adjunct faculty at St. Cloud State University and Southern Methodist
University where she has taught
class piano and music appreciation, and supervised graduate piano
pedagogy students. She has been refining the art of private piano
teaching since
1988.
Bonnie has taught in the piano preparatory programs at St. Cloud State
University, Southern Methodist University, and Butler University. She
has created Saint Germain Music Studio with a vision for making
piano music come to life for all ages and stages.
Her goal is to keep students interested and actively participating in
making
music throughout their lifetime. She strives to create a climate in
which
students can experience continuous musical, intellectual, and emotional
growth.
In this process of growth, it is her goal for students to become
independent
learners. She emphasizes imagination, fun, and determination with goals that reveal and enhance the strengths of the student. Bonnie feels
privileged
to share the joy of music making with her students.
